RCIA -Adult Sacraments

Adults interested in the Catholic faith or those who have been baptized, but not received Eucharist or Confirmation are encouraged to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).

Paragraph 473 of the RCIA says “no greater burden than necessary is required for the establishment of communion and unity” (with those who were baptized in a separated ecclesial communion– Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopalian, etc.).  Therefore, those who are already baptized may receive sacraments when they have been “doctrinally and spiritually prepared according to their own individual pastoral requirements”, Paragraph 477.

The Easter Vigil is reserved for those who need all 3 Sacraments of Initiation; Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

RCIA/RCIC – RITE OF CHRISTIAN INTITIATION OF ADULTS/CHILDREN

This fall, St Richard Parish will begin the RCIA/RCIC process to welcome new members into the Catholic Faith. If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the Faith we will begin our sessions on Sunday, September 25th following the 9am Mass.

Information booklets (PINK) regarding the process and are available on the Pamphlet racks at the doors of the Church or at the Church office, please feel free to take one. Please complete the REGISTRATION form in this bulletin, cut it out and either give to Maureen, drop in the Sunday Collection basket, mail it to the Parish office (26855 Lorain Rd.), or put in an enveloped marked RCIA & put in the Parish office mail slot.

As a Parish family, pray for those who are called and will come to journey with us to full communion in the Church.  We, the baptized will in turn be enriched by their accepting God’s call to Journey in Faith.

If you have any questions, would like to join the mentoring team, or know someone who may be interested in the process, please contact Maureen at 440-779-7529 (please leave a message) or email at PSRDirector@st-richard-org.
