Eucharistic
Minister
The special ministers of Holy
Communion assist the priest during Mass with the distribution of
the Eucharist. They also take Communion to the local
nursing home and homebound parishioners.
These men and women highlight
the universal priesthood of every Christian and, at the same
time, emphasize the solemn responsibility of the laity. All are
trained and encouraged to live a Christian life of good example
so that the community becomes one in Christ.
Ministry
Of Lector
The Ministry of Lector has its
origin in the very early Church. Vatican II restored the
function of Lector as a genuine, liturgical ministry. The lector
proclaims the Word of God during Mass as well as special
liturgies such as Vespers and Communal Penance Services.
Lectors are trained for their
ministry and encouraged to study and prepare diligently for
their service.
Ministry
of Music
Ministers of Music lead the sung
prayer of the church as members of the Adult Choir, Instrumental
Ensemble, Children's Choir and as Cantors. Music ministers
rehearse and train as their particular role requires, usually
once a week. New members are encouraged to join at any time.

The
Ministers of
Hospitality
Hospitality ministers greet
people at all weekend liturgies and assist them in taking their
place within the assembly. While participating fully in the
liturgy, they also make certain that the gift-bearers for the
Offertory Procession are present, and are responsible for taking
up the collection and directing people at Communion. When
the mass has ended, they distribute bulletins.
Altar Servers
The Ministry of Altar Server is
open to the youth of our parish beginning in fifth grade. Altar
servers assist the priest at the altar at Sunday and weekday
Mass, as well as other rituals such as weddings, funerals and
liturgical celebrations. A group of adult servers assist at
funeral liturgies.
